Meet Breanna Jackson By the end of her second year of college, single mom Breanna Jackson had changed her major twice, and was still uncertain about what she wanted to do with her life. Although she worried that changing her major again would cause her to lose the credits she’d worked so hard to earn, she still wanted to change the direction of her studies.
Then she enrolled in the General Studies Degree program, which allowed her to transfer most of her credits and to concentrate in subject areas that interested her. She got an internship that introduced her to probation work — and finally, she’d found her calling.
Jackson completed the Bachelor of General Studies and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice in 2004. Today, she works as an adult probation officer, and in fall 2008 will begin a master’s in organizational leadership and supervision.
